Just this week, Mr. C Beverly Hills launched Spritz Social Tuesdays, a bi-weekly evening poolside event. It’s a great midweek outing for folks who hate when the weekend’s over and need a little something to bridge them over until Friday hits. The hotel welcomes you to the outdoor deck with beats by DJ Bobby French, grilled meats or snacks from the traditional pool menu, and a new Italian-inspired spritz cocktail menu. Oh, and there are games–Jenga, corn hole, board games, ping pong–to get you up and moving. Of course, there’s nothing wrong with sinking into the low, comfy couches and leisurely soaking in summer’s vibes without moving an inch.

The Spritz Social is another example of Mr. C’s aim to keep locals and tourists in the hotel beyond overnight guests, continuously reminding us that Mr. C is a place to congregate with friends or colleagues any day of the week. The Spritz Social and Poolside Cinema will alternate on Tuesdays, there’s live music in the lobby on Fridays and Saturdays, and there’s the classic Cipriani menu offered at the hotel restaurant. Smorrebrod Taste on Melrose - Any and Everywhere

Just in time for summer eats, Taste on Melrose launched its smørrebrød lunch promotion. You probably can’t pronounce that word unless you’re familiar with the Danish language, but the smørrebrød itself is definitely something you’ll recognize. The open faced sandwich is authentic nosh in Denmark, popularly regarded as a national culinary treasure, albeit a simple one. Taste’s limited-time-only menu features a rotating choice of two smørrebrøds. Try both varieties, or double up on your favorite. Just a couple of weeks ago, the week’s specialties were shrimp salad on brioche with garlic aioli, avocado, and housemade potato chips and roast beef on hazelnut rye with remoulade, crispy onions, pickled cucumber, watercress, and fresh horseradish. Piled high with toppings, these open faced sammies are filling with just enough bread to satisfy those carb cravings. The deal comes with a simple arugula salad as well.
